Micah has held faculty positions at the Juilliard Music Advancement Program, Mannes Prep, the Kinhaven Music School, Third Street Music School Settlement, and Greenwich House. He has given masterclasses at over 20 colleges and universities including The Colburn School, Florida State University, City University of New York, University of Oregon, Baylor University, Bowling Green State University, and Virginia Commonwealth University.

My very first faculty position was in 2003 with The Juilliard School's Music Advancement Program where I taught the trumpet ensemble (with Wayne Dumaine) and a class called “Performance Workshop”. I’m not sure I deserved them, but with the support of folks like Dr. Aaron Flagg, I was able to have meaningful teaching experiences with fantastic young students in a program that does undeniably good things. These are the seeds that grew into a life-long passion for music learning. But still...those pants.

Wiff Rudd and Mark Schubert have built the most constructive and thoughtful trumpet studio I’ve ever been able to work with. Sure, the students at Baylor University always sound AMAZING, but more importantly, they genuinely support each other and engage in learning with palpable enthusiasm. This is no accident. Teaching at Voice of Children | Kathmandu, Nepal

 In 2017, he partnered with the Ramallah Orchestra and the al-Kamandjati school in Ramallah to perform with students around the West Bank. In 2019 he was awarded a Rainwater Grant for American Music, to bring instruments and brass instruction to Voice of Children, a school for street children in Kathmandu, Nepal.

He was a teaching assistant at Teachers College at Columbia University and is currently an assistant instructor at UT Austin’s Butler School of Music.
